Gaming with friends is complicated at times, how do I combine being nice to being competitive. There was one time that I played it up with Theproduct/Alex and a close friend to him I lost my temper because his friend made fun of my voice.
My voice is something I cannot stand someone making fun of. I have a speech impediment, and it is a major insecurity that I have. I lost control and was angry. I removed his friend from my friend list. After that I tried to mention it to Theproduct, but we got into an argument, and he was upset with me for a while. After some time, we patched things up and we gamed them up again and it was fun. However, that last time we played again his friend was at the party, but I chose to keep him muted and he noticed. We still played a few matches then his friend left for a smoke, and we waited for a while, but he never came back. We left the party because we wanted to play a few matches meanwhile, but his friend came back, and he got upset or annoyed because he was not responding. Now I just need to keep calm and game on even if I play by myself. I want to enjoy gaming again. How do you enjoy gaming again without stressing?
In gaming there is a lot of stress if you let your competitive side of you get to you. You need to remind yourself; it’s just a game and that it’s ok to lose. You are not playing rank, and you are not losing anything fiscal. I prioritize my friendships over a good gaming session.
I have been playing GTA 5 lately and giving Fortnite break. It’s been fun playing online and just doing missions on a friend invite only server and it very chilled. Just not working about randoms just messing around. And making me lose GTA currency. A change of pace helps me out sometimes.
That does not mean I want to quit Fortnite forever.
